  • When is the best time to move?
Do consider all the factors when deciding on the best time for you to move. If you have some flexibility in your schedule, provide us with a three day notice so that every aspect of the move is discussed in detail. If possible, be flexible with your destination timeframe as well. Keep in mind that there could be some unforeseen problem enroute due to weather and road conditions.
  • What happens when a surveyor comes to conduct a house visit / survey?
The estimator will arrive at your home to complete the visual survey of your items. Once this is completed, the estimator will calculate the weight, packing cost, volume of goods the appropriate truck size required, and any other charges related to your move. Remember that the estimator must clearly see what you are moving to provide you with an accurate estimate.
  • When should I begin contacting moving companies for estimates?
For Personal paid moves # Ideally, the more days the better. We recommend you give us atleast two – three days prior notice so we can do a proper analysis of the goods going and gives us ample time to discuss with our expert team and provide you a seamless, hassle free properly planned move.
For company approved moves # Try to provide us with as much notice as possible, especially if you are moving during the busy season. Four weeks from the actual move, date is not too early for us to come into your home to complete a “visual survey of your household goods shipment”. This is if you are obligated by your employer to submit estimates for approval. Call the mover to confirm your booking and schedule your packing, loading, and delivery dates. This time-frame can be shortened although.
  • How is the cost of my shipment calculated?
This depends on the volume of the goods you have, the packing requirements, the labour required, the size of the truck and  and the services you ask for. “Clear the Clutter” – follow this mantra strictly to avoid unnecessary increase in costs by increasing the volume of goods.
  • I feel the price a little high – as compared to others?
Please be assured unlike the other companies, there are absolutely no extra hidden costs or surprise last minute costs. We have a very clear and transparent pricing system and absolutely no hidden costs.
  • How should I pay and what are the payment methods?
Payment will be done online through our payment gateway. You can block the teams by paying an initial token amount and the balance money can be paid on the move date – when the team arrives to pick up the goods.
  • Can I pack and move my plants?
We recommend our clients not to take your plants along – as they tend to get damaged in transit and also damage the other goods.
  • What should I do with my jewellery and other valuable items?
We recommended that you carry irreplaceable and expensive article with you Items of extraordinary value such as jewellery, money, antiques, laptops, and stamp collections or make other arrangements for their transport.
  • How do I prepare my appliances for moving?
Appliances such as washers, dryers, and refrigerators must be disconnected, and the washer must have a stabilizer installed.
  • I had lost nuts, bolts of my bed and TV stand- the last time – When I shIfted through  another company. How will you ensure on it?
At LMI, we use special boxes (different coloured) for storing items like keys, nuts and bolts, remote controls, set top boxes, etc and mark it as Box No. 1 and mark it as a Special Care Tools Box and it will be delivered safely.
  • Can I shift some of my perishable items also like ghee, etc alongwith the other household goods?
We recommend not to send fast perishable items like Fruits, vegetable, ghee, etc as they tend to get damaged and also spoil the other goods in transit.
  • Can I shift my musical instruments also like guitar / tabla etc?
We recoquest our clients not to send musical instruments along – as they may tend to get damaged.
  • Can I shift my extra (empty) LPG cylinders and liquor bottles?
Sorrry – we are legally not allowed to shift LPG and liquor bottles across the borders – it may be confiscated at the checkpost and also create problems for the remaining consignment. So please avoic te same.
  • Am I protected against loss or damage while my goods are in transit?
Yes, once you buy an Insurance policy through us, we will cover you for the loss (if any) and give Full Value Protection or Coverage.
  • How do I prepare my home and myself for move day?
 Organize your things and household belongings. Make an inventory of items you will take with you. Sort out items you will not take with you. Dispose off the useless items of your home. Try to keep yourself free of packing many unnecessary items. This will help you save some time you will invest in the packing process. This will also help you cut the moving cost.
  • How will I know when my shipment is going to be delivered?
As soon as the goods reaches the destination, our delivery team will contact you and co-ordinate for the delivery schedules and arrange for the goods to be delivered immediately.  
  • Will i be able to track my goods?
You may connect with the Move Management team - who will keep you updated on the same.
  • Destination house is not finalised - do you have a storage facility?
Yes we do have warehouses with the storage facility options - the costs can be discussed with the sales executive.
  • How do I file and receive my settlement on my claim?
We ensure the highest quality standards to be followed while handling the goods – however, in case any kind of issue or damage happens we ensure our clients of a speedy settlement of claims and necessary resolution steps are taken immediately.
